Many years ago, I wrote an article on LinkedIn called "How To Keep Your Business Human". Prescience? Maybe.
But even then, I knew that successful marketing needed all the things AI could never offer my clients: emotional connection to their customers, inside jokes only their market would understand, personalized prose designed to educate and to sell.
My opinion has not changed despite the surge of AI tools.
Don't get me wrong. I love AI tools. But they're just that. Tools.
Before I write, I research. I read dozens of articles on the topic. I study the website of my clients as well as competitive websites to learn the best way to market to my clients' customers. Then I apply my marketing expertise and knowledge of homeschooling to create ideal content pieces.
With AI, I can condense thousands of online articles into a crisp outline in seconds. That frees me up to use my personal skills to craft copy and content specifically designed to encourage homeschoolers to purchase what my clients are offering.
So, when companies ask me, "Can't we just use AI to write our content?", I answer, "Sure! If you want your content to look like everyone else's content. But if you want personalized writing designed for the market you're trying to reach, you need a human writer."
Cold, disconnected writing will do nothing for your bottom line and will most likely have prospects scurrying to close your website.
Boring cookie-cutter emails end up in the trash.
But clear writing with personal touches and plenty of emotion will make a connection that will turn that prospect into a customer and keep them coming back for more.
